Welcome to Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia.   Upon arrival at Chinggis Khan International Airport in Mongolia, you will meet your Michid Mongolia crew and transfer to a hotel, conveniently located in downtown Ulaanbaatar.. The tour starts to the Gandantegchilen Monastery to see the chanting of the Buddist monks followed by visits to old monasteries left from the communist purge of the 1930s. Gandantegchilen is the biggest active monastery in Mongolia. Visit Central Square you will see a big statue of the national pride Genghis Khaan and revolutionary hero Sukhbaatar except for hearing some stories about the area. From here we will go to the National History Museum which tells the rich history of Mongolia. Drive to a war memorial on Zaisan  to see panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar. Return back to Hotel.

An early start sees you on the road by 8am. You will make the drive down to Bulgan province in around 5 hours of driving with a picnic lunch along the way. In the afternoon you will arrive at Baatarvan health treatment spa. Located in the sum of Khutag-Öndör in the aimag /province/ of Bulgan, Uran Uul /Uran Mountain/  is an extinct volcano whose crater reaches 1686 metres (1,05 mile) above the ground, has 500 metres (0,31 mile) in diameter and 50 metres (164,04 feet) in depth. Also, there is a great opportunity to do hiking,  or just enjoy at wild nature to take photos.

Ice festival, annually held at Khuvsgul lake-fresh water lake, khatgal village of Khuvsgul province, is a famous celebration or entertainment among locals and visitors organized by local community and government.Ice festival opening ceremony starts with cultural performances, a parade of dog sleds, horse sleds, and ice-skaters. At this exciting winter event, you can enjoy and explore Mongolian nomadic culture, traditions, customs, uncommon performance of shaman rituals, folk music and dance show, lifestyle exploration of reindeer herders, along with artistic ice sculptures and natural beauty.

Today, you will see more events and competitions in which you can take part. There will be a fun contest among tourists, ice target archery shooting, and ice skating. Also, you can try traditional Mongolian meals, fresh water smoked fish and buy handmade souvenirs.

We will drive back Ulaanbaatar with great memories of the winter festival. Have an overnight at a hotel in Erdenet city.
