Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia.   Upon arrival at Chinggis Khan International Airport in Mongolia, you will meet your Michid Mongolia crew and transfer to a hotel, conveniently located in downtown Ulaanbaatar.. The tour starts to the Gandantegchilen Monastery to see the chanting of the Buddist monks followed by visits to old monasteries left from the communist purge of the 1930s. Gandantegchilen is the biggest active monastery in Mongolia. Visit Central Square you will see a big statue of the national pride Genghis Khaan and revolutionary hero Sukhbaatar except for hearing some stories about the area. From here we will go to the National History Museum which tells the rich history of Mongolia. Drive to a war memorial on Zaisan  to see panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar. Return back to Hotel.

Day 2

In the morning, driving to Kharkhorin, the symbolic ruins of the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire. Also, Karakorum was one of the most important cities in the history of the Silk Road.  Continue to visit the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 Buddhism stupas.Then visit the Kharkhorin museum and see the Great Mongol state period, Stone Age, Bronze Age, Ancient state period halls.

Day 3

Today make a trip to the Orkhon Waterfall situated in the valley Orkhon river. Waterfall Ulaan Tsutgalan is located at the historically important Orkhon valley with volcanic rocks in central Mongolia. Waterfall Ulaan Tsutgalan is also known as Orkhon waterfall or Orkhonii Khurkhree. About 20,000 years ago, the waterfall was formed by an exceptional merge of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. It flows from an imposing height of 20 meters and its width is 10 meters. Ulaan Tsutgalan waterfall is the largest waterfall in Mongolia. Except for hiking and sightseeing, horse riding, rafting, camping, and nomad life experiences are the options you could try in the picturesque surrounding of the waterfall. On the way, visit Shankh temple, which is one of the oldest and most important monasteries of Mongolia. It was founded in 1647 by Zanabazar who was the first leader of Mongolian Buddhism.

Day 4

After a breakfast trip to Tuvkhun which is one of the most beautiful monastery complex, situated on a forested rocky mountain. The temple is located on a rocky mountain hill surrounded by forests at the top of the mountain in a secluded area. It was built by the great sculptor and one of the biggest representatives of Buddhism Zanabazar. It was a place of his for meditation and artworks and he made his world-famous creations in this temple.

Day 5

Then we will drive to the Khugnu khan Mountain natural reserve. It is a unique place with many different forms of natural landscape; combination of a Gobi sand dunes, forests and rocky mountain. The small monastery Uvgun (Old temple) will be quite an interesting spot - by walking or horse riding.  Uvgun /old temple/ elevated at 1768m above sea level and worshiped by local people for years.

Day 6

Today, we will travel to Amarbayasgalant Monastery and visit Buddha statue. This monastery is the second largest monastery in Mongolia, was originally built in 1737, who dedicated it to the great Mongolian Buddhist and sculptor, Zanabazar. Upon arrival, explore the around and hike up hills with Buddha sculptures.

Day 7

In the afternoon, return to the city. On the way, we will visit Aglag Creation Temple – is a small Buddhist temple is surrounded by scenic forested mountains with interesting rock formations and sits at top of the mountain. In Ulaanbaatar you may choose an optional city tour where you will be taken to souvenir and cashmere shops.

Day 8

We will transfer you to the airport  station.
